The jewel of a modern sailor

To combine the passion for swaying wooden boards on the sea surface with elegance, vintage elements with modern design and history with innovations into one original line – these are the unique privileges and capabilities of the Swiss watch manufacturer Ulysse Nardin, used also in creating the Marine Torpilleur collection.

Hidden figures

A ‘torpilleur’ (torpedo boat) is a relatively small and fast military ship designed to carry torpedoes into battle and counter large, heavily armed battleships, characterized by lightness and accuracy – just like a watch of this design. The collection is made in a 42 mm case (for comparison: the Marine Chronometer collection has a 43 mm case). The difference of 1 mm and in particular – a different way of movement – even this forms the main differences between the two original lines. The Marine Chronometer is powered by UN-113 caliber, the Marine Torpilleur UN-118 caliber, 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of up to 60 hours, which has been completely designed and manufactured in-house and integrates the latest technologies from Ulysse Nardin. Also this is the reason why is the company especially proud of this specific model.

Packaging matters

The dial of the watch (42 mm) is made of 18-carat rose gold and is protected by sapphire crystal glass. Powered by the UN-118’s self-winding caliber, this powerful accessory with silicon chronometer technology is water resistant up to 50 meters and provides a 60-hour energy reserve. The bracelet is made of rubber with a folding clasp. It has a black dial and includes C.O.S.C.
