The Chronomat holds a significant place in Breitling’s history. It was introduced in 1984, during a time when ultra-thin quartz watches dominated the market. Breitling made a bold move with the impressive proportions of a mechanical watch, which proved to be a pivotal step. The design of the watch is inspired by the Frecce Tricolori chronograph, developed and launched in 1983 in collaboration with the renowned Italian aerobatic squadron. The Chronomat celebrated Breitling’s centenary in style and marked the return of mechanical chronographs, which had established the brand’s global reputation.

The Chronomat boasts a 42 mm case made of stainless steel and 18k red gold, an iconic bezel design with four rider tabs, and the distinctive “Rouleaux” bracelet in rubber. At its heart is the in-house Breitling Caliber 01 movement, certified by COSC, ensuring exceptional precision and reliability
