Nudo Chocolate a Bracelet – enjoy the fresh wind in the world of luxury
Pomellato commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Nudo with two significant launches.
The first is the Nudo Chocolate, a gourmand’s selection of cacao-inspired sweet treats set with moonstones and brown diamonds. The second is a stylishly contemporary new bracelet design offering five different gemstone combinations.
The making of an icon The trail-blazing Nudo, that first saw light of day in 2001, changed the world of jewellery forever. Nudo, that means nude or bare in Italian, dared to re-invent the solitaire ring with a touch of irony by presenting a strikingly simple silhouette in an array of joyous colours to be worn as a rainbow stack or on their own.
The stone is naked in its splendour of pure colour as it appears to float in the air thanks to a novel fixing-system concealed inside the collet at the base of each stone. Playfully capturing the ever-changing light, each stone is softly facetted by hand in an asymmetrical pattern.
Nudo Chocolate
Pomellato, famed for its skill in conjuring up the most irresistible colour combinations, expertly selects new gemstone hues each season. The Italian jeweller’s passion for colour is evident in the choice of delicious chocolate hues that add an unconventional note to the Nudo colour palette.
In the spirit of pioneering new concepts of precious, the jewels combine a range of rarely seen varieties of moonstones enhanced by the shimmer of three different shades of brown diamonds.
The diamonds are meticulously set in an apparently random pattern as if scattered by chance, giving an organic appeal to these highly tactile jewels. The warm glow of rose gold adds to their breakaway style that will appeal to Nudo connoisseurs looking to add something truly different to their collection.
There are three different versions of the Nudo Chocolate rings and earrings. A Maxi-size ring features a mysterious dark brown moonstone as alluring as the highest cacao content chocolate. A rare orange moonstone shines out in the original Classic size ring reminiscent of a slab of the smoothest milk chocolate.
The lightest tone, as sweet as white chocolate, is saved for the Petit ring with a creamy brown moonstone that looks good enough to eat. The rings are accompanied by matching pendant earrings that are appealingly clean in form yet alive with motion allowing the stones to sway with the slightest movement of the head, catching the light from all angles.
Pomellato Bracelet
Adding to the celebrations, Pomellato simultaneously introduces an elegantly bold new bangle-style bracelet with five different gemstones and diamond details. True to the distinctive style of Nudo, the rose-gold bracelet has a strong and sophisticated personality.
The vivacious colours and the asymmetrical stone sizes are Nudo design motifs that find new life in this very contemporary take on the classic bangle. Easy to wear and ready to stack, a rigid open bangle encircles the wrist placing against the skin two vividly bright gemstones.
The double-sized Clessidra, or hourglass cut, gives volume and presence to the gemstones that are girded at the centre with a band of gold allowing light to stream through them and rest directly on the wrist.
As colour is at the heart of every Nudo creation, the bracelet makes it first appearance in five compelling colour ways, all complemented with diamonds. The five variations include two azure hues: Sky Blue topaz and the London Blue topaz.
For the two lighter gemstones options, depth of colour is achieved by creating doublets that skilfully combine together two different gems: white topaz is enhanced with the lustre of mother of pearl, while soft-hued rose quartz comes to life thanks to a slice of chalcedony. In contrast, dramatically dark obsidian is combined with black diamonds for an enigmatic look.
